NANEA YU
Nanea Yu was born in San Diego, California, where her love for dance evolved through rigorous studio training. She graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and a Creative and Cultural Industries Minor. Nanea has established herself commercially as a dancer, appearing in music videos, live performances, and in the showcases like Reconstruct, Club Jeté, and MashUp. She has presented original choreographic works with professional companies, including Affinity and Devotion The Movement, and has additionally set works for the Journey Dance Awards and Chapman University. Nanea had the privilege of collaborating with choreographer Tony Testa, serving as his choreographer’s assistant. As she moves forward in her career, Nanea is committed to expanding her artistic voice and deepening her choreographic process, embracing new creative mediums, and continuing to evolve as both a performer and creator.
My class is super high energy! Dancers can expect to listen to the music differently than how they first came into class. We will always work toward reacting to the music and settling into new characters. It’s truly a time to individually explore our potentials and push each other to push ourselves beyond our comfort zone!
