ABOUT JOURNEY
In the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Journey Dance Connection was created as the first ever, all-teen faculty dance convention. 17-year-old founder, Jesse Kohn, wanted to create a platform for young creatives to showcase their talent, while simultaneously creating a comfortable learning environment for students. The entire purpose of Journey Dance Convention was to switch-up the typical dance convention experience all while bringing the dance community together in a time of need. Journey Dance Connection continued for the next few months offering multiple virtual conventions and even an in-person event in New Jersey, just four months after starting.

Journey Dance Connection then launched another platform, the Journey Dance Awards. The Journey Dance Awards is a choreography showcase showcase for the next generation of choreographers. Choreographers 24-years-old and younger have the chance to present original choreography, receive personal feedback from industry professionals, obtain footage from the show, and a chance at $500 to a standout piece. The Journey Dance Awards have offered shows in Southern California, New York, and have more locations being announced soon.

The newest addition to Journey has just arrived-- the Journey Dance Collective. The Journey Dance Collective is a collection of artists in Southern California that have access to exclusive training opportunities and networking events outside of the typical dance studio. The purpose of the Journey Dance Collective is to connect artists in a new environment, while also allowing them to grow as dancers, choreographers, and as people. Journey Dance Connection will continue to create opportunities for artists to connect, grow, and thrive.
